Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was the lead for The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. They were noticed for their provocative songs and punk-rock design. The group wasn't popular in The United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a heavy-metal solo musician after the group broke up from 1979. After taking voice lessons, Ford released her first solo album "Out for Blood" followed by "Dancin in the Edge". Both albums failed to receive much success and Ford just vanished out of the scene for a couple of years. The smash hit 'Lita' was released in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly was a big hit, as were the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. But her fame was only short-lived and she disappeared from the music industry for a few years. Her re-emergence was with the release of "Black" from 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland" which came out almost 15 years following. Her latest album was released Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
