Zoe-perry
Perry is the father to Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry, a director. In her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback), her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first television roles. However, her parents did not let her perform until she was an adult because of how stress can impact on their daughter. Perry confessed that she wasn't at ease in the stage during high school However, she started acting as a means to meet new students at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry following her graduation from Boston University moved into New York in search of acting roles on television. She landed small parts in television shows, such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness caused her to move to California to find theater work. She performed on Broadway on Broadway in The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. In 2015, she starred alongside her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie with the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017, Perry was a part-time character in ABC's political thriller Scandal in which her father was the main character. The actress was also featured on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. The role was given by audition even though she was a cousin to the character.
